Helm Inc. ("we", "our", "us") operates the Helm mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using Helm, you consent to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Email address and name (provided during account registration)

Information collected automatically:

• App usage data (screens visited, features used)
• Device type and operating system

Financial data retrieved via Plaid:

• Bank account names and last 4 digits
• Transaction history (merchant names, amounts, dates, categories)
• Account balances

Note: We do NOT collect your bank username, password, or full account numbers. These are transmitted securely directly to Plaid and are never seen or stored by Helm.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and operate the Helm personal finance dashboard
• To display your transactions, spending summaries, and budget tracking
• To send password reset and account security emails
• To improve the app's features and fix bugs
• To communicate updates and important service notices

3. How We Share Your Information

We do NOT sell your data to any third parties.

We share data only with the following trusted service providers:

• Plaid Inc. : to securely connect and retrieve your bank data (governed by Plaid's Privacy Policy)
• Amazon Web Services :(AWS) our cloud infrastructure provider that securely hosts the Helm backend
• Supabase: our secure database provider where account and preference data is stored

We may also share data with law enforcement only if legally required by a valid court order or subpoena.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you choose to delete your account via the app Settings, we will permanently delete your personal data within 30 days. Some data may be retained longer only if strictly required by law.

5. Data Security

All data is transmitted using TLS encryption (HTTPS). Your bank credentials are handled entirely by Plaid's secure infrastructure and are never stored by Helm. We use industry-standard security measures to protect your data on our servers. While no system is 100% secure, we are committed to safeguarding your financial privacy.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data (via app Settings)
• Disconnect your bank accounts at any time
• Opt out of marketing emails

7. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Helm is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If we discover we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately.

8. California Residents (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete personal information, and the right to opt-out of the sale of personal information. 9. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes via email. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest version.
